We make no claims about effects, and this page does not make any. What it does is set out the practical shape of a first day, so nothing is improvised.
Before anything: preparation
- Read the label properly. Confirm the alkaloid, the milligram content per unit and the maximum serving. See how to read a label.
- Check the batch number on the packaging and note it down. It is your link to the certificate of analysis.
- Plan storage first. Locked container, cool, dark, dry, out of reach of children and pets. Do this before you open anything.
- Clear the day. No driving, no work obligations that need sharp attention, no alcohol, nowhere to be.
- Tell someone what you are doing and where the product is stored.
Taking it
- One tablet. Not one and a half, not “a bit more because I’m a big guy”.
- Sublingually unless the label says otherwise. Let it dissolve. Do not chew and swallow.
- Note the time. Written down, not estimated.
- If you chose a shot: measure with the cap. Remember the bottle holds eight servings.
- If you chose powder: weigh it on a calibrated milligram scale. Every time.
The waiting period
This is where most first-day problems occur. Onset builds over time rather than arriving at once, and the temptation to take a second dose before the first has fully landed is strong – particularly if you feel nothing yet.
For the rest of the day
- No alcohol – not one drink. See why.
- No other kratom alkaloid products. No stacking formats or alkaloids.
- No driving or machinery. Not later in the day either, when you think it has worn off.
- No prescription medications that you have not had cleared with a clinician.
- Eat and drink normally, unless you feel unwell.
What you cannot predict
Individual responses vary. Dose, body weight, metabolism, food, prior experience and other substances all matter. Two people taking the same 12mg tablet do not necessarily have the same experience – which is precisely why we recommend starting at the lowest available strength and why the dosage guide advises caution over ambition.
The day after
- Do not redose the following day out of habit. Frequency is the biggest driver of tolerance. Give it space.
- Write down your observations while they are fresh. Dose, timing, anything notable. It is what makes the next order decision informed rather than instinctive.
- Decide deliberately whether to continue. Not by default.
When to seek medical help
Difficulty breathing, chest pain, extreme drowsiness, confusion, fainting or anything that frightens you: call emergency services. Bring the packaging. Do not wait to see if it passes.
