Chronic pain is the single most common reason people arrive in this category. It is also the area where the most irresponsible marketing in this industry happens. Here is the straight version.
What we will not claim
We do not claim that our products relieve pain, treat pain, manage pain, or do anything else therapeutic. We do not publish customer testimonials about pain relief. We do not describe any product as a pain solution.
These are not editorial decisions. Selling a product with drug claims makes it an unapproved new drug, which is illegal, and it is also dishonest – because the evidence does not support it.
Why the evidence does not support it
Published research on kratom alkaloids is preliminary and largely limited to laboratory and animal models. Laboratory and animal findings are not clinical evidence. No clinical trials have established safety or efficacy in humans for pain or any other indication. No regulatory agency anywhere has approved these products for medical use.
That is the state of the evidence. Any vendor presenting preliminary lab work as proof of pain relief is misrepresenting it.
What you will see elsewhere
| What you’ll read | Why it is a problem |
|---|---|
| “Natural pain relief” | An unapproved drug claim |
| “Works for chronic pain” | Unapproved drug claim, unsupported by clinical evidence |
| “Better than prescription medication” | Unapproved comparative drug claim. Also potentially dangerous advice. |
| “Kratom replaces opioids” | Medical claim. Not for a vendor to make. |
| Customer testimonials about pain | Same claim in a different wrapper |
When you see these claims, you learn something about the vendor’s standard of honesty that extends well beyond their marketing copy. See why “no withdrawal” claims are a red flag.
If you live with chronic pain
- Talk to a physician. Specifically one who knows your history, your imaging, your medication list and your previous treatments. This is a medical problem with medical options.
- Ask about the full range of options. Pain management has changed considerably, and there are approaches that do not involve opioids.
- Be honest with them about anything you are taking – including these products. They cannot help you accurately if they do not know. See how to talk to your doctor.
- Be extremely careful about substitutes. Using unapproved substances to self-manage pain without medical oversight is a well-documented route to dependence.
- Do not stop prescribed medication to use a kratom product instead. That is a serious medical decision to be made with a clinician, not a website.
Why we are direct about this
Because the people most likely to be harmed by undiluted marketing are people in genuine pain looking for help. Telling them what they want to hear to make a sale is a straightforward abuse of that, and it is illegal. We would rather you read this page and go elsewhere than buy from us on a false premise.
