7OH Tablets Explained: Nano, Milligrams and How to Choose
How 7OH tablets are made, what nano pressing actually changes, how to read a milligram label, and which strength suits which level of experience.
The short version
7OH tablets are the format most people should start with. They are pre-dosed at the factory, they need no scale and no measuring, and they dissolve under the tongue for reasonably quick absorption. The three things that actually matter when comparing tablets are milligram content, press quality and lab verification. Everything else is flavour.
How a 7OH tablet is made
- Leaf selection and extraction. Kratom leaf is sourced, dried and extracted to concentrate the alkaloids.
- Purification. The extract is refined toward a target 7-hydroxymitragynine concentration.
- Assay. An independent lab measures the actual alkaloid content of the batch. This is the number that goes on the label – not a target, a measurement.
- Blending. The extract is blended evenly with carrier and flavour, which is what prevents “hot spots” where one tablet is stronger than the next.
- Pressing. The blend is compressed into tablets of consistent weight.
- Final test and packaging. The finished product is sealed in light-blocking, moisture-resistant packaging with the batch number printed on it.
Step 4 is where cheap products fail. Poor blending produces tablets with wildly variable actual content even when the average is correct – which is exactly why independent testing matters more than the label claim.
What “nano” actually means
Nano refers to the fineness of the milling and the resulting tablet structure: a smaller, denser tablet with a larger relative surface area. In practice that means:
- Faster breakdown under the tongue
- More consistent release between tablets
- A smaller tablet that is easier to hold sublingually
- Often a milder taste, because a smaller tablet carries less of the bitter extract at once
It is a manufacturing quality difference, not a marketing trick. You can feel the difference between a nano tablet and a coarsely pressed one.
Reading a milligram label the right way
A product labelled “15mg 7OH” contains 15mg of 7-hydroxymitragynine per tablet. It does not contain 15mg of kratom and it is not comparable to 15mg of leaf powder. Because concentrated 7OH is potent at low milligram amounts, the step from 12mg to 20mg is a large relative increase – roughly 70% – not a rounding error.
Cost per milligram, not cost per bag. 100 tablets at 12mg is 1,200mg of alkaloid for $100, which is about 8.3 cents per milligram. Run that sum on any competitor’s listing before you decide.
Sublingual or swallowed?
Sublingual – holding the tablet under the tongue and letting it dissolve – is the way these products are designed to be used, and it generally produces a faster onset than swallowing. Swallowing a tablet means it has to pass through the stomach, which delays and flattens the effect. Follow the instructions on the packaging, and never take more than one tablet per day.
Which strength should you choose?
| If you are… | Start here | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| New to 7OH products | 12mg Mango 100ct | Anything 30mg and above |
| Experienced at 12mg | 18mg Orange 100ct | 50mg |
| Looking for a step up | 20mg Fruit Punch | Jumping straight to 50mg |
| High tolerance, experienced | 30mg Grape | Daily use |
| Buying in bulk to save | Dollar Trio 300ct | – |
Storing tablets
Keep them sealed, dry, at room temperature and out of direct light. A sealed pouch with a resealable zip is the right container – do not decant tablets into an unlabelled pill organiser, because you will lose the milligram and batch information. Keep them locked away from children and pets.
Five quality checks before you buy any 7OH tablet
- Is the exact milligram per tablet stated on the product page?
- Is there a third-party certificate of analysis for the specific batch?
- Is there a batch number on the packaging that matches the COA?
- Is the tablet count stated clearly – 25, 100, 300?
- Does the vendor avoid making illegal health claims? (A vendor claiming pain relief is telling you what they think you want to hear, not what is true.)
We answer yes to all five. See the Lab Results page and shop 7OH tablets.
